PAMILA

At only 18, Pamila found herself homeless in Orange County, California. She was living with her common law ‘husband’ (boyfriend) Rob, 32. They shared a tent in a small wooded area inside the I-405 off-ramp in Costa Mesa. She had followed Rob here from Baltimore in an attempt to find his father. They had gotten more heavily into drugs and Pamila became pregnant. The search for Rob’s father, along with their relationship, failed. Rob was arrested on a warrant from the mid-west and Pam moved in with a mother and daughter she had befriended, who lived at a motel. She bounced around to different motel rooms, dating a new guy. Eventually, Pam got out of Orange County, but she continues to struggle with life, with a failed marriage and pregnancy.
